In the aspiration to evangelize God’s Kingdom everywhere, the sisters set out to the mission in Watangi- Mharashtra which is the remote part of the Parish of Our Lady of Rosary Church Azra. And in desire to reach out to this people on 30th April, 1996, sisters went in this village. There was a Prayer Service in the evening. Fr. SavioBaretto SJ blessed the convent under the guidance of “Our Lady of Rosary “ giving the little ‘Rosary Convent’. Sr. Mary Jane, the Superior General inaugurated the house by cutting the ribbon. Some sisters of this locality came from Goa with Rev. Sr. Jane for the inaugration including the sisters of Azra. Fr. Savio spoke out his expectations and also Mr. Albert D’souza the sarpanch spoke. Villagers were also present for the function. After the inauguration people were served chirmuleos. Villagers helped in the manual work of the house and also Ajra boarding boys came to help under the direction of Fr. Franklin SJ.
On 6th 1996 Sr. Juliana came as a Superior and Sr.Rupa a member came to stay here as we landed in Ajra on 5th June at night with Sr. Jane and spent the night at our convent at Ajra. Sr. Priya joined them after some time and then Sr. Flory came and Sr. Rupa was transferred to Ajra community.
On 18th June 1996 the boarders were brought from Ajra and were brought to stay here along with Sr. Olivia who was the fourth member of the new community. Sr. Priya (Prinicipal of the school), Sr. Juliana and Sr. Flory as teachers in the school. A lay teacher Mrs. SunitaChavan was also engaged in the school from July 1996.
From then on, sisters continue to spread the love of God in this village through the ministry of Pastoral work, visiting, teaching through the Primary school the children of this vast village and thus being one with the people in every joy and sorrow.
At present the animator of the community and the members are serving joyfully the people of Watangi.
